Overview
EchoLock helps you surface your own notes, photos, and reflections at meaningful moments — based on time, location, health signals, or manual actions.
Information We Do Not Collect
EchoLock does not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
- Account information
- Usage analytics
- Advertising identifiers
- Location history outside your device
- Health data to any server
- Third-party tracking data
EchoLock does not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Data Stored on Your Device
EchoLock stores the following locally on your device only:
- Notes and text you create
- Optional photos you attach to Echoes
- Trigger settings (time, location radius, health thresholds)
- Unlock history (“Moments”)
- App preferences (such as Pause All)
This data remains on your device unless you explicitly delete it.
Location Data
If you enable location triggers:
- Location is used only to determine whether a trigger condition is met.
- Location checks happen on-device.
- EchoLock does not store continuous location history.
- Location data is never transmitted off your device.
You may revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
Health Data (Optional)
If you choose to enable Health access:
- EchoLock may read selected HealthKit metrics (such as heart rate or HRV) only for trigger evaluation.
- EchoLock does not provide medical advice.
- Health data is processed locally and never leaves your device.
- EchoLock does not write data to HealthKit.
Health access is optional and can be managed or revoked in the Apple Health app.
Notifications
EchoLock uses notifications to alert you when an Echo unlocks.
- Notifications are generated locally.
- No notification data is sent to external servers.
Subscriptions & Payments
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple via the App Store.
- EchoLock does not receive your payment information.
- Apple manages billing, renewals, and cancellations.
Third-Party Services
EchoLock relies only on Apple system frameworks, including:
- Apple HealthKit
- Apple Core Location
- Apple Notifications
- Apple StoreKit
No third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking libraries are used.
Data Retention & Deletion
- You can delete individual Echoes or clear Moments at any time.
- Deleting the app removes all locally stored EchoLock data.
- EchoLock does not retain data after deletion.
Children’s Privacy
EchoLock does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app contains no social features, advertising, or user accounts.
Changes to This Policy
If EchoLock’s privacy practices change, this policy will be updated accordingly. Significant changes will be reflected in app updates.
